First Nations and Canada’s Priorities

In light of what might transpire in relation to the Wet’suwet’en people, I think this article by Professor John Stackhouse Jr., is instructive and worth reading. It is nothing less than a tragedy that First Nations people should not have access to clean drinking water in 2020. Read the article here.

    This is really odd, as it always seems Canada is way ahead of most countries. Thanks for sharing; this does not fit with my view of your country. I am happy for all the news I find on WP, as ‘normal’ news would not cover this

    Yes, us settlers (i.e. those who are not indigenous people) have a rather checkered history with our Indigenous peoples, and unfortunately, injustices still exist today. Our Truth and Reconciliation Commission has moved our nation in the right direction, however will still need to live up to our T & R C’s calls for action.
